Not what we were hoping for.

It absolutely breaks my heart to have to let everyone know this but we are out of options here at MD Anderson and will be coming home tomorrow.

Despite the many problems he is having dad feels good today, he has been smiling, laughing and making jokes every once in a while. He has had Dialysis two times and it has helped to clear some of the toxins out of his body so he is more alert. There is nothing they can do to improve his kidney function, it seems that there is a blood clot causing the problem as well as the increase in size of his tumor.

Our flight arrives in Charlotte around 1:30 tomorrow afternoon. Anyone that wants to visit just call or text me or Becky, sometime on Friday or the weekend should be fine, we don't know our schedules completely since hospice will be visiting as well.

Also if you have tried to leave a message here the easiest way to do so if you don't have a gmail account is to choose anonymous, just leave your name at the end of the messages, we have been reading them to him, trying to reply when we can.

  4. Hello Billy I am stranger to you but not your struggle as My Father fought this battle. I remember his favorite verse Those that wait upon the lord shall renew their strength they shall mount up as wings like eagles they will run and not grow weary they shall walk and not faint. You are a blessed man as i see what those who know you are writing. .kwf

  6. Billy,

I have met you only twice, most recently we worked together in Raleigh a few months ago in conjunction with the NCDOT. It was obvious the first time we met (doing more government work then too) that you were a first class gentleman and a very sharp businessman. At least in those 2 occassions, you were a man of few words which is why I listened intently when you did have something to say as I knew I could learn something from it. I found out just this week about the difficulties you have been having and I just wanted to let you know that we are all out here thinking of and praying for you. It is apparent that you have a truly amazing family there looking after and caring for you. It is a true testament to the man you are. Stay strong and we will keep the thoughts and prayers going.

  7. Billy, Today was not the news I wanted to read on Jayski. With tears in my eyes, I am responding at my computer desk surrounding by memorabilia of our friendship and travels together on the race circuit that began in 1998.

You opened the door to my son Barry and I to a lifetime of experience in the Nascar garage. To are a true Gentleman and one of the finest examples of what is meant by Nascar being a family.

Prayers work and Good Things do happen like the races in 98 at Daytona and Talladega.

You are in our thoughts and prayers every day.
