Back at Home

Hi everyone, I just wanted to do a quick update to let you know we made it back home yesterday after some interesting experiences at the Houston airport. Dad is settled back in at home and has been enjoying a steady stream of friends and family stopping by to visit. He is resting well and is pretty alert with all that's going on at the house right now.

Save the date for Saturday, April 12 at the Hickory Motor Speedway--we are planning to have Dad drive the pace car for the race that day, depending on how he's doing and what we can work out with the folks at the racetrack. Standby for more specific details this next week.

  2. Hey Billy, this is Jonathan Herndon, Fox's son! I know we don't really know each other personally but I talk to Jody and Deedra often when I am home and whether you realize it or not you have done a lot for my dad and I over the years! I really just wanted to tell how thankful I am for that. I can remember playin around the junk yard when I was little, and then also all the ways that yall at strandridges helped me when I ran in the derby, with finding cars and motors and of course finishing my car up in your shop. I can tell you I was proud to win that derby with standridge auto parts written on the side of my car. there are many other things that you have done for us I just wanted to say thanks, and I hate that I cant come by and see you because I am in Afghanistan right now! but I will be sure to swing by there when I get home in may! but keep your head up Billy where there's a will there's a way. we're all praying for you

  9. We were racing at Talladega one time 2 wide about 20 deep. I look in the mirror and here comes somebody up through the middle. When he gets to me I just give him room. I watched him go all the way to the front. It was pretty ballsy at the time. Yep it was Billy. Nobody had really run 3 wide at plate tracks up till that point. I always enjoyed Billy. Sorry to hear about your situation but we are sending prayers your way. Rick Mast

  11. I remember seeing your page FansCanRace on Jayski.com. I got a lot of stuff from the auctions that you and Frank used to have on your page. I am the one that sent your guys the pit crew shirts with the Fans Can Race logo on the back of them. Ive still got one of the shirts myself. It was so Awesome coming to Talladega and seeing your spotter up in the stand wearing one of them and seeing him give me a thumbs up and a Thank You when I yelled up to him. Im praying for you Billy. God Bless You!!
